A Little Bit About Us

Built in 1928, Gold Mountain Manor, a 7000 sq ft. Log mansion built by Alexander Barret, a wealthy Los Angeles movie investor, and his beloved wife, Bessie. The mansion, designed by architect Guy Sherman Maltby, sits on an acre of Ponderosa Pine.

Featuring fine period antiques and reproductions, the Manor has seven guest rooms, all with private bath, wood burning fireplace and queen size bed. The common rooms include a great room with billiards, TV/DVD with dvd library and surround sound, board games and library plus comfy furniture for watching the birds. Our dining room, where we serve breakfast, features an antique wood iron stove embellished with polished brass and a hand painted table with odes to the nature that surrounds us. And our lovely living room with it's giant quartz rock fireplace and inviting sofa and chairs will inspire you to get a cup of tea or cappuccino and sip the afternoon away.A grand, old fashioned veranda wraps around the mansion and is furnished with plenty of rockers and comfy settees for your afternoon reverie.

We also serve breakfast and Saturday night hors d'oeurves outside during the warmer months. We look forward to helping you relax and refresh in our quiet mountain inn.

Gold Mountain Manor is 1 block from the National Forest, 2 miles from Holcomb Valley Gold Mine trail, 1.5 miles from Big Bear Lake, and minutes from hiking, biking, skiing, boating, horseback riding and fishing. We are located on quiet prestigious Northshore, only minutes from the hustle and bustle of Southshore.
